Based on an instrument by Magno Tieffenbrucker in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna (SAM 41)

Although the Tieffenbrucker instrument was converted into an archlute later the 17th century, it was probably built as an eight course lute with a single pegbox. The proportions of the body make it an ideal model on which to base nine and ten course lutes as it combines a comfortable string length with a neck that carries at least nine tied frets.

Please note that the instrument shown is the the multi rib version.

A simpler version with a 19 rib back is also available price £5600

From £6100
